| August 2009 - Legionella-hit home set to close |
A care home for the elderly in Nottinghamshire will close following concerns about the safety of residents.
The Legionella bacteria has been found at Daleside Care Home in Forest Town, and there are concerns about building safety, the county council said.
No staff redundancies are planned as a result of the closure and the 13 residents will be transferred to other homes nearby, the council confirmed.
It is not yet known when the care home, near Mansfield, will close.
David Hamilton, service director for Nottinghamshire County Council, said: "This has been a difficult decision, but the safety and welfare of the residents is our main concern.
"The residents, relatives and staff have all been very reasonable and understand why we need to close.
"We don't have a specific date for closure and, whilst we need to move people fairly soon, we also want to work at their own pace."
